About Ian Wall:
Ian Wall worked at Plas and Breninin the 1960s, the UK’s national mountaineering and outdoor center in North Wales and admits that his friendship with its Director John ‘Jacko’ Jackson and leading climbers of that period shaped his future life. Since then Ian has climbed extensively throughout the UK, the European Alps and in Norway.
Ian has led treks in Africa, Ladakh, Tibet, and in Nepal (where he lives now). He keeps busy running his own trekking company and acting as an international advisor to the Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival, Kathmandu Environmental Education Project, and in developing and training trek leaders in Nepal and India. He is also the Nepal correspondent for the Alpine Journal and contributes to several other magazines. In his spare time, he’s out exploring his ‘back-yard’ of Nepal but he still retains his UK Climbers’ Club honorary membership.
